Tower Internals
Tower internals includes in Liquid Distributor, Bed Limite, Support Grid, Collector, Feed Divices, Feed Pipe,Support Plate etc.
Tower Internals:
1. Distributor:
It was used in packed column above each bed of packing. The distributor , depending upon its disign feature. Liquid introduced into the parting box which properly distributes the liquid into the troughs.
2. Support Grid/ Plate
it is composed of corrugated sheedt perforated with slots/holes to seperate gas and liquid paths maximising total throughput.
3. Bed Limiter
It plays the roll of securing the packing layers within the tower, to keep the tower operates steady and normally, it includdes packing supporting and packing compaction.
4. Collector
Collector is similar to the liquid distributor with risers.The major function is collecting the liquid and re-distributing the gas.
5. Mist Eliminators
It was remove of mist and micron-size droplets. made in various metals and plastics
6. Liquid redistributor
Because of the unavoidable wall float domino effect within the packing tower cause the windage of the tower section gas float ratio, i.e. the difference radial consistence on the tower section, and reduction in the tower performance,In this case , when packing layer reaches a certain height(normally theoretically between 10-20), there should be installed liquid distributor, to rebalance the gas spreadness, it contains liquid collector and liquid distributor.
